The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way we live and work as a society. Travelling as a whole has either ceased or is a maze of unresolved confusion and fear for those that must, compulsory business travellers. In a period of uncertainty and fear the experience of travel should be aided not neglected.
01
Preliminary Research
A series of interviews were conducted with a variety of people in order to gain a better understanding of the main problems and fears facing people and travel. Once completed we unpacked the data, created affinity maps and collected the key insights and opportunities for possible solutions. Alongside interviews we also completed secondary research into the area of COVID-19 travel in order to see what already exists and how that experience could be improved for travellers.

Problems Revealed
03
Contextualisation
Unpacking the insights revealed that the main problems facing corporate travel were; fear of infection, disconnect with employer and frustration due to lack of information. In order to contextualise these identified problems we created personas, user journeys and scenarios to be utilised as points of reference throughout the duration of the project.
04
Ideation &
Concept Development
Ideation was composed of continuous sketching in order to highlight core user features, map out various user flows, breakdown information and develop an initial concept.
05
Sitemap
Research and early ideation revealed that the ‘Convoy’ application would need to be utilised by both employee and employer. The employer would access via desktop and the employee via mobile app. Focusing on the employee route this site map makes evident the structure of how the app would be laid out and navigated through.

Core Features
07
Low Fidelity Prototyping
Utilising initial sketches and flow charts a low fidelity paper prototype was created in order to quickly map out the basic structure of the app. This paper prototype was used for numerous usability tests in order to reveal initial pain points around information structure and flow.
Findings and Recommendations
08
Mid Fidelity Prototyping
The prototype rapidly moved from paper to digital as numerous rounds of user testing revealed the pain points, discovered the key insights and gained user recommendations to build upon. The creation of the mid fidelity prototype was to gain user feedback on altered flows, actions and initial UI layouts.

High Fidelity Prototype
After continuous testing and prototyping a high fidelity prototype was developed integrating visual components, copy and colour.
